* * PMf 10. PLAINDEALER-HERALP, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY1985 Deaths Dana Moats ' Dana Moats, 37, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 1985, in his home. He was born April 5, 1947 in Romine's Mill. A resident of McHenry over 13 years, Mr. Moats had been a truck driver; was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam; and a member of the Moose Lodge in Antioch, 111. Surviving are his mother, Mildred Moats Aldeman, Alum Bridge; his stepfather, John Aldeman, Sheboygan, Wis.; five daughters, Shannon and Sara Moats, both of Texas, Dananna and Ellie Moats, both of Illinois, and Ellie Moats of Alaska; and two brothers, Roy C. and Thomas R., both of McHenry. Also surviving are a half brother, Kenneth Sholders of Green Bay, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Sanford of McHenry; and two half sisters, Mrs. Garnett Bennett of Lake Geneva, Wis. and Mrs. Sandy Conley. He was preceded in death by one sister. James G. LeveVnier James G. "Jim" Levernier, 09, a McHenry area resident the past 12 years and former resident of Northfield, 111., died Thursday, Jan. 3. 1985 in Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. I Je was born Jan. AO, 1915 in Iltinois. Mr. Levernier had been a maintenance man at Palwaukee Airport, Wheeling, over 20 years before his retirement. Surviving are his wife, the former Jane Scrimgeour; three sons, James, Jr. (Marcia) of Colorado, Michael J. (Patricia Ann) of Spring Grove and William R. (Janice) of Genoa City, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Swinford of McHenry and Mrs. Ronald (Nancy) Sowls of Wauconda. Other survivors are five grandsons; five grand daughters; two brothers, Joseph (Jean) Levernier of Hopkins, Minn, and George Levernier of Crystal Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Van Hyning of Glenview and Mrs. Milton (Gertrude) Baker of Phoenix, Ariz; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were con ducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with interment in Woodstock County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, Fox Lake. Y " • . ' \ - Thomas E. Hohmann Thomas E. Hohmann, 60, of McHenry, died unexpectedly in his home Saturday morning, Jan. 5. He was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Chicago, the son of William P. and Mae (Overgaard) Hohmann. At an early age, Mr. Hoh- mann's family moved to Big Rock, 111. where he attended local schools. On Oct. 11,1944, he married Marilyn Sherwin, in Sugar Grove and they made their home in Kaneville, 111. A WW II bomber pilot, discharged in 1945, he operated a mill in Kaneville until 1951 when * he became a pilot for United Airlines. Surviving are his wife; a son Thomas R. (Jean) of Sandwich, 111.; two daughters, Mrs. David (Linda) Johnson of Centerville, Ohio and Laura Hohmann of Milwaukee; a twin brother, George (Rose) of Batavia, 111.; a sister, Mrs. James (Florence) Maier of Suger Grove; his parents and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur William Hoh mann and a nephew, Rex Maier. Visitation was held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and at noon Tuesday until the time of ser vices at 2 p.m., in the Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St.\ P.O. Box A, Elburn, 111. 60119. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. An open memorial has been established at the funeral home. Jeffrey H. Johnson Jeffery H. Johnson, 22, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 1985, in McHenry. He was the son of Harold C. and Emily M. (Eh- mke) Johnson. Mr. Johnson j^as employed by Bildon of Crystal Lake. He at tended Cary Grove High School; graduated from Central High School, Crystal Lake in 1980; and attended McHenry County College. . t . Mr. Caponi had been a resident of Whispering Oaks for 13 years. Florence Rothermel Florence T. Rothermel, 67, of 2554 Forest Run Court, Clear water, Fla. died Sunday, Jan. 6, 1985, at Mease Hospital, Dunedin, Fla. She was born Aug. 24, 1917 in Chicago, to John and Margaret (Cuchini) Nardi. Mrs. Rothermel wasf a McHenry resident until five years ago, when she moved to Clearwater. She had been a McHenry grade school teacher; and belonged to Light of Christ Catholic Church in Clearwater. Surviving are her husband Raymond J.; four daughters, Diane M. Valek and Susan J. Grabowski, both of McHenry, Nancy E. Jensen of Linwood, .Mich, and Gayle A. Bailey of Hartover Park, 111.; and eight •grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Light of Christ church, with burial in Curlew Hills, Palm Harbor, Fla. Arrangements were made by Rhodes and Wice Funeral Home in Clearwater.
