WEPXESPA1 JAMAIO *>• 1W5 Schools JHS presents play this weekend One "Hie Good of Neil Sinwn's^glayss Doctor, presented at Johnsburg High School this weekend in the theatre-in-the-round. This play was chosen to be the opening performance for a newly-constructed Johnsburg High School seven years ago. "The Good Doctor" is based on a series of short stories by Anton Chekhov, which were adapted into a play by Simon in 1973. A narrator, known simply as "the writer," is the only character to tie all the stories together. Some of the stories are hilarious, some are touching, some are both. A tape of the music used in the original Broadway production will be used as background. « Hie cast includes seniors, Ed Foster (the writer),, and Chap Hughes, Missy Davis, Mary Dvorak, Harry Walk, Lisa Matulka and Dave Hanamoto. Other cast members include Brian Dunivan, Ariet Mann, Tom Maiorca and Tom Buc- celli, Linda Maiorca, Laura Lund, Michelle Scavo, Chad Bear and Sue Wester. The play is directed by Roger Zawacki, who will be assisted by student director Kim Larsen. Dawn Wetzstein will be student stage manager and technical directors are Bill Schmitz and Rany Theil. Tickets will be on sale at the door before each performance. Doors will open at 7:30 p.fti. and performances will begin at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 and 2.
