The next date is Monday, Feb. 18, when they will meet at 5 p.m. for dinner at the Busy Bee Restaurant, 4821 W. Elm Street, and a pleasant evening. T.H.E.O.S. (To Help Each Other Smile) is a casual, warm and friendly group of widows and widowers, who meet the third Monday of each month for dinner at a local restaurant and then go to the First United Methodist Church for an evening of fun and fellowship. It is non- denominational, warm and friendly, with no age restrictions and no dues. Pancakes served St. Paul's Episcopal Church of McHenry will be hosting its Annual Shrove Tuesday Pan­ cake Supper Tuesday, Feb. 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Upper Room of the church. This event has been a tradition in the parish for many years, and the servers advise everyone to come early as it is sure to be crowded. The menu will consist of all the pancakes, syrup, sausage, and bacon one can eat, together with beverages of coffee, tea, or milk. Monday, Feb. 18, is the date set for the next regular monthly meeting of the McHenry Business and Professional Women. Cocktails will be available at 6:30 p.m. at Johnny Murphy's restaurant, 1211N. River Road, McHenry (just east of the old bridge), and dinner will be served at 7, at a cost of $8.50. The program for the evening will be presented by Mary Ryan, community relations coor­ dinator for Chemical Waste Management, Inc. She will speak on "Household Hazardous Waste," a topic which should prove interesting to all. Hosting the event is the Foundation committee which includes chairman, Lynne Donarski, Marge Hendee, Florence Piasecki, Cathy O'Leary, Marlene Goetschel and Fonda Stewart. " All members are uged to attend and bring guests. The McHenry Business and Professional Women meet once a month for dinner at a nearby restaurant, and a program generally featuring a speaker on a worthwhile and informative subject. Lehmann Blvd. (Routes 59 and 132) is holding its annual pancake supper Tuesday * Feb. 19. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any member of the church; adults, $3; children under 12, $2; and children under five, free. Circle to host U.M.W. ;Niesen-Williams united in marriage at St. Mary's The Evening Circle will host the next general meeting of the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 pjn. The January meeting was ^called to order at 9:30 a.m. by the president, Kathy Boehmer, and began with a prayer by Nancy Hodges. In the absence of the treasurer, Veretta Gerstad, the report was read by the president. Naomi Circle hosted the event, and served delicious bakery items and beverages. Nancy Hodges read in­ teresting meditations; Gwen Oliver, district treasurer, was introduced; and she began an impressive pledge service, assisted by a number of the U.M.W. members. MR. AND MRS. The bride approached the altar to the strains of the Bridal March, to be given in marriage by her sons Michael and Patrick Niesen. The Reverend James Gaynor was the officiating clergyman, assisted by Deacon Eugene Frost; and Leonard Pawlikowski handled the duties of commentator. Providing appropriate music for the 2:30 p.m. nuptials, Celeste Mann accompanied herself on the organ as she sang "Prayer of St. Francis," "Ave Maria," and "On This Day, O' Beautiful Mother." The bride wore a long, suede rose chiffon gown, with a Vic­ torian neckline, enhanced by embroidery and tucking on the SWSWlfWd bodice. An added sentimental touch was an heirloom pin which had been in the Williams family for many years. Her matching floral headpiece secured a blusher veil and she carried a bouquet of silk white roses and carnations, baby's breath, and white satin streamers. Attending her mother as matron of honor was Sally Niesen Glosson. She was attired in a long, bluestone crepe gown with a straight skirt and jacket effect. The bride's son, Michael Niesen, and the groom's son, Donald Williams, Jr., served as ushers. A reception for 120 friends and relatives was held at the McHenry Country Club. Among the many out-of-town guests were the groom's daughter Nancy Williams Olesen and family, and his son Donald Williams, Jr. an<? wife, fiuui California; Hie Inkle's five brothers and two sisters, from all parts of the country; her son Pat Niesen from Ann Arbor, Mich.; the groom's son Tom Williams and family from Algonquin; and a friend of the groom, Asger Olesen, who made the trip from Fredrichaven Denmark.
