"Gifts of an Eagle", the first of the season's Wildlife Film Series, will be presented by Kent Durden at the Woodstock Opera House on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. Durden will present the true story of a 16-year relationship he and his father had with a golden eagle named Lady. Lady was raised at their California mountain home, and was not constantly confined to a cage but flew freely around the ranch. She successfully incubated and raised a variety of other bird species. Throughout the years the Durdens filmed Lady for Disney movies and the Lassie television series. According to McHenry Police, an RTA bus driver requested assistance last Saturday with a man who had reportedly fallen asleep on the bus. Taken inside the police station, Off. Jeffrey Foerster was assisting the man in keeping a seat when the paraphernalia was found. During a search for possible weapons, Foerster found an object with a pointed tip. Timothy A. Bryan, 7217 Cowlin, Crystal Lake, was arrested for unlawful possession of a hypodermic and needle and possession of a • controlled substance. Police said the substance was reportedly found to be sodium phenobarbltol. In other arrests, Jimmie D. Haak, 47, of 610 Orton, Wauconda, was charged with battery following a domestic dispute at 1707 Meadow Lane on Feb. 8. " . Police also arrested Joseph John Weber, 52, for retail theft under $300 after he was reportedly caught shoplifting at Hornsby's last Saturday af ternoon.
