To assist you, the traveler, the American Society of Travel Agents, Inc.(ASTA), the national trade association of travel agents, has prepared this notice to give you the latest facts about air fares. 4. Travel agents are not allowed to give discount/rebates unless specifically authorized by the oirlines. 5. U.S. federal laws make it a criminal offense to offer or give rebates/discounts below the government-approved official tariff fares on international tickets. 1. Each airline decides what fares to offer, what conditions must be met, and what rules must be followed to be eligible for special/discount fares. 2. Special/discount fares have conditions and rules established by the airline, which limit tickets' availability to certain times and circumstances. 3. Travel agents ore required to charge the fares under the rules ana conditions established by the airlines. Air fares are confusing, but your ASTA travel agent stands ready-to assist you by working with each oirline's fares and rules on a doily basis. We use this knowledge to help you receive the best tore and the best schedule to meet your needs. If you feel your fare or schedule should have been different, please call and allow us to explain our reasoning. Remember...Before you travel, get all the facts! Call the ASTA experts.
