FOX * '! Cast shines in 'Finnegan' By Amende Bruce Mary Tyler Moore stars as a youthful-looking wid ow who falls in love with a retired newspaperman by Robert Preston "Finnegan Begin Again," airing Feb. 24 and 27 on HBO. A romance between the two seems unlikely, but Miss Moore and Preston make it believable. The best ' thing about this film is its memorable characters. Finnegan, played by Pres ton, is a senior citizen who is younger in spirit than most teenagers. Sam Waterston plays a married undertaker who has an affair with the widow. sending her flowers from the funeral wreaths. Sylvia Shane portrays a modern- day Miss Haversham, who lives in the past. The mov ie is funny, although a little kooky, and full of poig nant moments. Horrifying doesn't begin to describe the facts revealed in HBO's latest "ifWroertprt' Undercover" documentary titled. "Sex ual Abuse of Children -- Beyond the Secret." air ing Feb. 25. The film claims that one out of eve ry five boys is sexually molested, and that 90 percent of the abusers are either in the victim's family or a friend. But the facts don't tell the story of the lifelong anguish, guilt and deprivation sexually abused children carry into adulthood. The documen- Mary Tyler Moore tary is powerful because it brings real victims and abusers in front of the camera. All parents should see this film. The third episode of the British ^Broadcasting Corp.'s five-part remake of "Jane Eyre" will air Feb. 24 and 25 on the Arts & Entertainment Network. Timothy Dalton plays the brooding, mys terious Mr. Rochester, who wins his governess's heart. Miss Eyre is played by Zelah Clark, who gives her a dowdy look, but lets her goodness shine through. In this week's episode, Miss Eyre and Rochester are brought closer togeth er after she saves him from a small fire in his bedroom. Later, a large group of houseguests arrive, including the beau tiful Lady Ingram, who expects to marry Roches ter. <D 1985 CwnptAig IT PAYS TO ADVERTIS 4:15 AM tB 'Mixed Company' 4:30 AM 0 News MOVIE: Movietone ACROSS 1 Hairdo 5 Actor Liggert 9 Actress Jillian 10 "-- Pablo" 12 Linda Lavin role 15 Author of "A Doll's House" 18 Rock and -- 20 Belonging to Girardin 21 So long 22 Mountain: pref 24 Abby on "Knots Landing" 25 Mr. Lear, to friends 28 Not elsewhere specified: abbr. 31 She was Soon-l ee 32 Egyptian life symbol 34 Lena of Broadway 36 Actress Dickinson 37 Rocky hill 39 The Flying --" 41 She's Mary Beth 42 Fastens (clue to puzzle answer) DOWN 2 " -- Feud" (clue to puzzle answer) 3 Nurse Ernestine, e.g. 4"-- Upon a Family" 5 Moslem title of honor 6 European country: abbr 7 Comedian Sid 8 From a distance 11 Sam on "Cheers" 13 Tennis shot 14 David -- 16 He's Remington Steele 17 Organ for sight 19 Unwind 23 Principal newscaster 26 Exclamation of surprise 27 Something unusual 29 Mechanical contrivance 30 Snow runner 33 "What the -- do we care?" 35 Old Ireland 36 "-- Mary 38 " -- Our Own" 40 Hoosier school: abbr.
