With steady breathing and relaxation techniques, general tension is reduced and blood pressures pan be lowered. The role of proper nutrition is also discussed in Yoga classes. The Yoga classes are held at the First Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, op Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for beginners and at 8 p.m. for continuing. ; A unity of mind, body and spirit is the goal of this program. Presented through the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, it -was the first of a series Specifically designed for people ;with heart disease, and their families. Many of the participants in the series are graduates of, or clients and family members Currently enrolled in the NIMC Card i ac Rehab i l i t a t i on .'Program. Members of the public who have a friend or relative with a heart problem, or potential heart problem (i.e. those people with high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity) could benefit from learning how to give CPR in an emergency, and possibly save the life of a loved one. The classes are free of charge, and meet the requirements of the American Heart Association.
