Manor Ln.( McHenry, died Wednesday, March 6, 1985 in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. He was born March 22, 1916, in Chicago, to James and Mildred (Roberts) Tucker. Formerly of Chicago, Mr. Tucker lived in the McHenry Township area 28 years; was an art director for J. Waller Thompson & Company of Chicago over 20 years ; belonged to the American Water Color Society and all other related associations; wajrajWW Q coast Mary J. Surviving are his wife Florence (Green) whom he married Feb. 16, 1952; a daughter, Robin Tucker of Chicago; and three sons, Larry, Timothy and Russell, all of McHenry. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation, services and in­ terment were private, and arrangements were handled by the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Hornet Alaska! After five years with the U.S. Air Force, he became a qualified field naturalist with a degree from the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources. He is now a film producer and lecturer, having also made specials for , the Canadian Broadcasting Co., as well as educational films. He has ap­ peared at the Opera House' several times in the past, and was very well received. Tickets may be obtained at the Opera House ticket office. Area teachers training in law-related education Mary J. Hollaus, 93, 3830 W. McCullom Lake Rd., McHenry, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 1985, in her residence. She was born May 7, 1891 in Austria to Aloys and Grace (Geisler) Ober- steiner. A McHenry resident 13 years, living with her daughter, Mrs. Hollaus was a member of The Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry and St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Oshkosh, Wis. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Clem (Rose) Wirfs of McHenry, Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Belfeuil of Red Granite, Wis., Mrs. Carl (Elizabeth) Marx of Tucson, Ariz, and Mrs. Gene Anna M. Hughes. (Helen) Troxell of Oshkosh; a son Gilbert (Hertha) of Oshkosh; 14 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 17 great- great-grandchildren; and a sister Anna Schettl of Oshkosh.^ She was preceded in death by her husband Aloys on Aug. 2, 1949; a brother Frank, in WW I; and her parents. Visitation was held Sunday in Oshkosh; funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent's church; and in­ terment was in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home. Memorials^ are requested to St. Mary's church. The office of O.C. O'Hara, superintendent of educational service region has been selected as one of the 10 sites in Illinois to train teachers in law-related, education. Richard McDoweJ assistant regional superin­ tendent, wrote the proposal and is the director of the project. Judy 6abb, Crystal Lake Central High School teacher, is teacher trainer-assistant director of the McHenry County project. The workshop began Feb. 27. Goals, McDowell said, are to make the participants aware of the components of law-related education; to involve them in law related activities to see how they can be used in the classroom; and to make them aware of the resources available through use of a McHenry County projects resource team. Members of the resource team include Donald McDowel Babb, attorney, David Klasing, or court services; Clyde Senters, principal, Orchard Street School, Fox River Grove; Mike Hylton, teacher, Riley School, Marengo; Susan Krause, program director, Youth Service Bureau; Judge Ward Arnold; and Sgt. Gary Wigman, Juvenile Officers' Association. McDowell and Babb received 10 hours of training in Peoria to prepare to direct the project. The resource team in turn was given a two-hour awareness workshop prior to spending two days in Springfield at a con­ ference sponsored by Governor Jim Thompson and the Illinois Bar Association. On Nov. 28-29, the Governor hosted more than 150 Illinois educators and law-related business people at his mansion and then gave the opening remarks at an all day con­ ference which kicked off the 10 projects in Illinois. - Twenty-five McHenry County teachers will be involved in the law-related education program. On March 9 there will be a five- hour workshop. The project is receiving financial support from the Constitution Rights Foundation, T* Anna M. Hughes, 73, of McHenry, died Wednesday, March 6, 1985, in Northern Illinois Med of Samuel and Justyna Pesz. Mrs. Hughes lived in the area all her life; belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church, McHenry; and was a member of St. Patrick's Ladies Guild. Surviving are her husband, Eugene J. Hughes, whom she married Oct. 6, 1934 in St. Patrick's church; a son Gene J. Jr. (Dorothy); two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Joanne) Garrelts and Mrs. Richard (Rosa) Reiche, all of McHenry ; and111^ grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, John (Olga) Pesz of Barrington, 111., Andrew (Gertrude) • Pesz, Harold (Frances) Pesz and Joseph (Nancy) Pesz, all of Island Lake; and Samuel (Cora Mae) Pesz of Texas; and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Julie) Dumaski of Island Lake, Mrs. A1 (Irene) Servin of Rockford, 111. and Justyna Davis of Xenia, 111. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Neckrebecki. A Funeral Mass will be of­ fered at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's church and burial will be in St. Patricks Chur­ chyard Cemetery.
