WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13,1*>85 HP enjoys visit by Brownies Recycling will help students go on class trip Helping Paws enjoyed, not only the visit to the office, but, the interest and enthusiasm in animals shown by Brownie Troop No. 324 of Canterbury School. Their donation of pet food is very much appreciated. Newest information on feline leukemia shots is that the medication can be used on adult cats! Please check with your veterinarian! All pet adoptions must be validated by the signing of a contract along with the adoption fee of $35 for all dogs or $20 for all cats which includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery from a vet of HP's choice. However, $15 for dogs or $10 for cats is deducted from the cost of the surgery if done by a vet of your choice. When adopting a pet through Helping Paws, keep name, address and phone number of the person from whom you adopted the pet. Make the check for the adoption fee payable to Helping Paws. Each month, on the first and third Saturdays, the McHenry County Defenders conduct recycling drives in the parking lot ofMcHenry Community High School West Campus. The school is located at 4724 W. Crystal Lake Rd. in McHenry. The drives are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drives are usually co- sponsored by other non-profit community groups. On March 16, the graduating class of Montini Middle School will participate. The eighth graders, under the direction of Dolores Wines, are seeking to earn money to finance a class day at Great America. Persons unable to bring papers to the drive may arrange for a pickup by calling the school at 385-1022 between 8:30 and 4 p.m. The deadline for calling for pickup service will be Friday, March 15, at 4 p.m. Items which can be brought to the drive include newspapers with no magazines or junk mail included, glass containers with all metal and plastic removed, "tin" cans rinsed and flattened, aluminum scrap of all kinds, used motor oil, and brown paper bags and cardboard in con venient to handle bundles.
