Guest speakers from community make Jaycees better citizens Most people think of the McHenry area Jaycees as a group of young adults organized together to provide service projects for its community. But that's not the total story. For example, during the past 11 months the Jaycees invited guest speakers from nine dif­ ferent local community and governmental agencies to speak at monthly general membership meetings. The purpose of the program was to develop better- informed citizens, which will help the community in the long run. Some of the agencies represented were the McHenry Area Crime Stoppers, the McHenry County Conservation District, Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry Mayor Joseph Stanek, McHenry's Park Department and the McHenry County Board. If a person is better informed, he or she can make more in­ telligent decisions and become the leader the Jaycees attempt to develop.
