APRIL 3.1%3 Neighborhood news Wonder Lake Former postmistress is the surprise guest of honor at dinner Lorraine Murphy was all ready to hear political speeches as she arrived at a dinner held in the Ringwood Methodist Church recently. She had no idea the dinner was being held in her honor until she heard the master of cermonies, Elmo Bradley, mention 27 years of service to the community! Since it was so close to election time, the cover of a political dinner was com pletely accepted by Lorraine. Hie evening was co-hosted by the Rev. Richard Wright and Elmo Bradley. Speakers who elaborated on Lorraine's ac complishments were: Mae Gaddis. Jack Crawford. Ed McMahon, Bill Fitzgerald, and John Regner. Charlie Jacobson added his talents to the en tertainment for the evening. Along with all the kind words. Lorraine received a corsage and a gift certificate, She also had members of her family there as honored guests. About 50 people were in at tendance who were able to say thank you in a special way to a very special lady. COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT I've been receiving telephone calls about several different annoying things happening pound the lake, so here it goes. We have heard of garbage cans being taken right out of people's yards. That doesn't say much for a person's character when they have to stoop so low as to steal something pertaining to garbage. . Then, there are the mailboxes. This can be counted as pure vandalism with a federal offense if the vandal is caught. Some boxes have been completely destroyed and others have had a flag ripped off or the door destroyed. , Other areas of the lake^ especially Wooded Shores, have had trouble with dogs being allowed to run free. Being the owner of two dogs, we know how they escape every once in a The sale will be going on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 21 and those who would like to offer an hour of their time in helping to sell on that day, can contact Kathy Nelson at 728-1313. She would also be happy to hear from you if you would like to contribute baked goods. Sunday is always a good day while, but the complaint is that to cheat on your diet so stop by some are allowed to run free all the time.
