This is one of the reasons all residents in lilymoor should support this group, as it was necessary to curtail the plowing in areas where no dues had been paid, Margaret Karas 385-4934 Potholes and poor condition of the roads was the important issue addressed by President Jim Dahlquist. Glenwood Drive, the only street in Lilymoor which is not gravel, will particularly need work. It was voted unanimously to have £a man qualified to do road •grading and repair, attend the ?next meeting, May 6, to ^determine the best and most -efficient way to develop solid roads. ' Also unanimous was the vote to give Donald Vornkahl the office of road commissioner, as he has been doing much of the filling of potholes these past months. Donald brings a lot of muscle and enthusiasm to this volunteer activity. Speeding on subdivision roads was a concern of the Thorntons, Hal Vornkahl and Walter Farr. As many small children often use the roads as play areas, residents fear for their safety. It was noted that speeders come in all ages, not just young drivers. Parents are asked to caution their children, as there seems to be no legal way at this timftjA slow speeders. Treasurer Marion Vornkahl asks those residents who have not paid their dues to make their accounts current, so that the roads can be given more than a "band-aid" type repair. The association needs to know how much money will be available to re-do subdivision roads. This will be decided at the May 6 meeting. Plan to attend and help improve the community. WOODCHIPPER HELLO John Hosie, former Lakemoor resident, who had been a policeman here in the late 1950's, stopped in at the library to share his hobby. John is a member of the Chain-O-Lakes Woodchippers, and had read of the wood carving exhibit by Ray Embrey which will be shown at our library. Pictures of John's birds were viewed, with the robin extracting a large worm winning the most approval. John fondly recalls the many Friday nights spent at Wally's Tavern in Lakemoor, playing poker. He says "Hello to mends and extends an in­ vitation to ioin him and fellow woodchippers at the Mundelein Holiday Inn April 20 and 21. Of course, the first stop is at the McHenry Nunda Library on that Saturday afternoon, to see what our own wood carver, Ray Embrey, has done. CELEBRATING Jim Chambers and his youngest daughter April celebrate their birthdays one day apart; his, April 6 and "hers the 7th. SUNRISE SERVICE There will be a combined Sunrise Easter Service for the Ringwood and Greenwood churches at the Greenwood church Sunday at 7 a.m. It will be followed by an Easter Break­ fast. The club has stocked the lake with over $5,000.00 in game fish over the last year. Another $3,500.00 will be spent in stocking fish in 1985. We are not doing this so that irresponsible people will keep undersize fish illegally. All State of Illinois fishing regulations apply on McCullom Lake. The legal minimum size limit on Northern Eikfc is 24 inches, with a bag limit of 3 per day. The club has been working for many years with the State of Illinois fish biologist. A delicate balance of fish are required to provide good fishing. The club also requests all fishermen not to keep any bass under 14 inches. The McCullom Lake Conservation Club has entered into an agreement with the State of Illinois Department of Conservation. The lake will be patrolled much more extensively by Conservation Officers. The club asks that anyone seeing someone catching and keeping undersized illegal fish to call the State Conservation Patrol at their toll free number 1-800-252-0163. Due to the size and condition of McCullom Lake, a boat using a motor will be limited to a 7 horse power motor.
