He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services were private for the family only and arrangements were handled by Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home. Esther Tripp Esther Tripp, 78, died Mon­ day, April 22,1985, in her home. She was bora June 12, 1906 in Mexico, Mo., the daughter of Peter and Anna (Hubert) Schneider. -Mrs. Tripp lived in the area about 20 years, having come from Round Lake, 111. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; her parents; a brother Henry and a sister Martha. Surviving are two sons, John of San Diego, Calif and Richard (Myrna) of Laguna Hills Calif.; a daughter Shirlee Tripp of McHenry; a stepson Harry (Velma) Tripp of Irving, Tex.; three grandsons and one granddaughter. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Peter M. Justen & Son Funeral Home where services will be con­ ducted at 10; 30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Jan Walker of­ ficiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to McHenry County Hospice. Clifford Wilson, Sr. CliffordE. Wilson, Sr., 75,4505 W. Ponca, McHenry, died Saturday, April 20, 1985, in Veterans Administration Hospital, North Chicago. He was born June 12, 1909, the son of Frank and Emma (Vasey) Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a lifetime resident of the area, and former owner of Wilson's TV on Elm St., McHenry. He had been a staff sergeant in the army; was a WW II veteran and member of the Woodstock Moose. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Beatrice) Holt of McHenry, Marie Wilson of Capron, 111. and Carol Wilson of Long Lake, 111.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Clifford E. Jr. ifi 1974; a brother Frank Wilson Jr. and two sisters, Beatrice Petersen and Alvera Wilson in infancy. Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, where services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Arthur Martin of Christ Church of Universal Law, Round Lake. Interment was in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside. Lester T. Sherman Lester T. Sherman, 88, of McHenry died Friday, April 19, 1985 in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. He was born in McHenry Nov. 2,1896, the son of Clifford E. and Laura G. (Thomas) Sherman. A retired dairy farmer, Mr. Sherman had lived in the McHenry area all his life. He was a member and past master of McHenry Lodge 158 AF& AM ; former school board member of the old Sherman Hill School and District 15, McHenry. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lon (Laura F) Smith of McHenry and Mrs. Warren (Edith L.) Hartwig of Roseville, Mich.; a son Robert M. (Isabel) of Palatine. 111.: nine grand­ children ; four great­ grandchildren; and a brother Edwin (Ethel) Sherman of Lakewood, Colo. He was preceded in death by his wife Hannah E. (Cummings) May 8, 1969. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Alliance Church, McHenry, with the Rev. Gerald L. Robertson officiating; and burial in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry. Friends called from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, with a Masonic service at 8, at Peter M. Justen & Son Funeral Home. The family would like memorial contributions to Alliance church. LinneaT. Gould Linnea T. Gould, 82, died Friday, April 19, 1985 in Nor­ thern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. She was born Nov. 6, 1902, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Carl and Lina (Petterson) Christianson, Jr. A resident of Royal Terrace, McHenry the past two vears, formerly of Ingleside, 111., Mrs. Gould belonged to Mt. Hope Methodist Church, Pistakee Highlands. She is survived by a niece, Afrs. Robert (Barbara) Rich of Arlington Heights, 111. Her husband and parents preceded her in death. McKibben, 75, of Crystal Lake, formerly of New Port Richey, Fla., died in his home Saturday, April 20, 1985. He was born in Birds, 111. July 21, 1909, the son of Ray and Lesta (Baker) McKibben. Mr. McKibben was well- known in the McHenry area and had been employed by Eastern Air Lines until his retirment in 1974. Surviving are his wife Helen E. (Jobe) whom he married April 7, 1929 in Flat Rock, 111.; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Jean) Blann of Streamwood, HI. and Mrs. Larry (Sue) An­ thony of Baker, Calif.; six sons, James (Barbara) and Donald (Rita) both of Streamwood, Thomds (Dianne) and Patrick (Tita), both of Crystal Lake, Robert (Joan) of Hazelton, Ind. and Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; 13 great­ grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; ana a sister, Mrs. James (Lillian) Broady of Terre Haute, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Visitation was held Monday at Querhammer Funeral Home, Crystal Lake; services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Crystal Lake Christian Church; and interment was in Crystal Lake Memorial Park. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society. Florence E. Waters Florence E. Waters, 95, of Chicago, died Thursday, April 18,1985 in Resurrection Nursing Pavilion, Park Ridge, 111. She was born July 17, 1889, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Magdalen (Folz) Edelmann. Mrs. Waters had been a summer resident of McHenry the past 80 years. She is survived by a son Frank S. of McHenry. Her husband Raymond preceded her in death in 1962. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, with a funeral blessing at 8, offered by Father Eugene Lutz. Interment Was in St. Boniface Cemeteiy, Chicago. Catholic Memorial Masses would be appreciated. LorenaStraub Lorena (Esh) Straub of Barrington; 111. died unex­ pectedly Friday, April 19, 1985. Mrs. Straub had lived her early life in Spring Grove and graduated from McHenry high school. Surviving are her husband" Anthony: three daughters, Yvonne Pritchett, Edna Mae O'Malley and Margaret McCall ; two sisters, Lois Britz and Lucille Cristy; and 13 grand­ children. A Wake was held Monday in Stirlen-Pieper Funeral Home, Barrington; a Funeral Mass was offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anne Catholic Church, Barrington; and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Activities set for Law Day Kim Irvine and Richard G. Flood, co-chairmen of the Law Day Committee for the McHenry County Bar Association, have announced that the McHenry County Bar Association will hold its annual Law Day ceremonies on Friday, April 26. The ceremonies will begin at Woodstock Courthouse, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, at 11 a.m. in Room 305. The speaker for the Law Day ceremonies this year will be the first assistant attorney general for the State of Illinois and former dean of Loyola University School of Law, Charles Murdock. Also the bar association will announce the recipient of the Liberty Bell Award, which is annually bestowed upon a McHenry County citizen to recognize outstanding com­ munity service.
