The actual two- week swim program will take place July 8 - 19, and registration will be held Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. You will be able to register at either the True Value Hardware store on the east side of the lake or at the Villaj Market II on the west side of lake. Parents seem to sign their children up for the beginner class but forget that advanced lessons all the way up to and including life saving are also offered. Registration will take place both days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. FIESTA DAYS PARADE Trey Covalt, chairman of the Fiesta Days Parade, is trying to contact all the residents of nearby communities through t h e i r n e i g h b o r h o o d correspondents, to promote participation in the parade which will be held July 28. The committee is trying to en courage music to be included in all parade entries if at all possible. If you have a group that might be interested, contact the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce for all the details. SPECIAL DAYS Today will seem like "Graff Day" in the Wonder Lake column--a belated "Happy Anniversary" to Ken and Maiy Jo Graff, who celebrated their special day April 19. On that same day, Al and Rita, the Communications workshop set Communicating with youth will be the topic of a McHenry County Cooperative Extension Service workshop set for Thursday, April 25,1 to 3 p.m. or 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Production Credit Association, Woodstock. Youth Advisers Mary Widolff and Kathy Halstead will present a multi media program on basic communication skills. Par ticipants will have an op portunity to interact for a complete "hands on " com munication experience. • The workshop is open to McHenry County 4-H leaders, parents, junior leaders, and Homemaker Extension Association members. FOURTH OF JULY Chris Niehaus has again par coordinator for the July 4 celebration. Chris has done such an excellent job over the past years, I'm sure we're in for another excellent parade for 1985. Since the fourth falls on a Thursday this year, the festivities are being planned for the following weekend, with the parade taking place Saturday, July 6, beginning at Christ The King at 11:15 a.m. Try to encourage any of the organizations you are involved with to become an active part of the parade.
