The concert will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14 in the West Campus auditorium. Some soloists will be featured and a girls' ensemble will appear. The public is invited to attend and no admission will be charged. -v Sponsors of local candidates in the" 1985 Miss McHenry County Pageant will include two new sponsors, Dorothy Kleckner, chairman of thefpageants since 1964, announced. The new sponsors are Rich­ mond Floral and Gifts, Rich­ mond, and McHenry Chamber of Commerce, McHenry. They succeed Intermatic, Inc., Spring Grove, and McHenry American Legion Post, 491, McHenry, sponsors of candidates in their communities for many years. The 12 other local sponsors are returning to present candidates in the Miss McHenry County Pageant. They include: Miss Algonquin Committee, Algonquin; Crystal Lake Park District, Crystal Lake; Fox River Grove Chamber of Commerce, Fox River Grove; Woodstock Chamber of Com­ merce and Industry, Wood­ stock; Huntley Lioness Club, Huntley; Harvard Rotary Club, Harvard; Lake in the Hills Jaycettes, Lake in the Hills; Marengo VFW Auxiliary, THE"MAZ" IS FINALLY 18! Marengo;**Union Lioness Club, Union; Wonder Lake lions Club, Wonder Lake; Cary Chamber of Commerce, Cary and Hebron Business Association, Hebron. The entry deadline is June 30 and most local sponsors have finalized plans for a local con­ test or some method to select a candidate. The candidates will meet with Mrs. Kleckner and her queen committee in early July to begin preparation for the contest. The candidates will appear before judges on two occasions. The first time will be the preliminary judging on July 16 at Chapel Hill Country Club. The finals will be opening night ^attraction of the McHenry County Fair on Wednesday, July i Judging is based on beauty, poise, and personality, and the winner will vie in the Miss Illinois County Fair Contest which is held in January 1986 as part of the Association of Illinois. CAR WASH The Northern Youth Outdoors Club, sponsored by McHenry Moose Lodge No. 691, will have a car wash Saturday, May 11, at the Moose lodge on Route 31 at Johnsburg Rd., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The donation of $2.50 per car will help provide the boys and girls of the group with a memorable summer. Horse club holding poster contest McHenry County students are invited to enter the first annual art competition, being spon­ sored by the McHenry County Horsemen's Association. The theme of the contest is "McHenry County is Horse Country."
