Green St., McHenry. The handbell choir is under the direction of Btfan Anderson, who earned a music degree at the University of Wisconsin. The choir will ring the folowing selections at the -ser­ vices: "God Himself is With ifc," "The Bells of St. Mary," 'pastorals for Flute and Bells," 'Gannon," "Clockwork Canon," '$>edalpoint and Passacaglia," 'rMaterna," "Beautiful Saviour," "God of Grace," and 'Gloria." The Shepherds Bells will attend a handbell choir workshop at Iowa State University, Ames, la., from June 11 through June 25, at­ tending classes and learning how to improve ringing techniques. Members of the choir include Lisa Anderson, Judy Zid, Chris Lawson, Cheryl Hansen, J.J. Warren, Kathy Marinangel, Robert Volck, Lorie Hansen, Julie Smith and Bev Blundell. Members of the community are invited to join in ail programs and worship settings at the church. Worship services are held at 8:30,9:45 and 11 a.m. each Sunday. Parishioners of St. John the Baptist Church* Johnsburg, will gather to pray for peace at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. The traditional May Crowning ceremony and rosary will conclude with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. "The public is invited," according to the Rev. John C. Holdren, Pastor. Eighth-graders of St. John the Baptist School and the Religious Education program will form a special court leading up to the statue of the Blessed Virgin, which is crowned by a young girl dressed in a bridal gown. She will place a orown upon the statue as a sign aM symbol that Mary is the mother given by Jesus to the world when He was dying upon the cross. * First Communicants of the parish will form the procession down the aisle dressed in their traditional white dresses and white shirts and ties, along with other grade school children. Each child will carry a flower and place it at the special altar decorated by the women of the parish. "We hope that nteny will gather to pray for peace not only within themselves, within our community, but throughout the world as our Blessed Mother requested," stated Father Holdren. A living rosary will be formed by individuals of the various parish organizations leading the congregation in* the Hail Marys and Our Fathers. The eighth graders of St. John the Baptist School voted for those to be on the crowning court. Crowning girl is Holly Harvey; attendents will be Jennifer Huemann and Kateri Phelan. "We are remembering and dedicating this to Mary and to com­ memorate the sixty-eighth anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Mother to the children in Fatima, where she requested the rosary be prayed for world peace." advised Father Holdren. The Vianney adult choir and Seraphyms, under the direction of Bill Misik, will sing. all to worship services Sunday, May 12, is Mothers' Day and Pastor Merle D. Conklin and the people of Wonder Lake Bible Church invite everyone to come for Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:45 a.m. The adult choir and the children's choir will conclude their ministry, for a few months of rest during the summer, by presenting some special music, along with guest soloist, Valerie Fay. Pastor Conklin will give a special message for the day based on I Peter 3:1-7, "Mom and Dad: Heirs Together." During the 6 p.m. Bible Fellowship hour there will be an open general discussion on goals of the church. Next Sunday, May 19, special emphasis will be given to senior citizens of the area. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a display of hobbies and interests of the seniors. During the 6 p.m. Bible Fellowship hour there will be a revieW of the church's programs Mid goals for sefiior citizens, and a special message by the pastor.
