All four runs were unearned as the Warriors won their fourth straight, improving ; to 11-7 on the season. McHenry *will host league-leading .Woodstock in a Fox Conference tilt Fridav. f "We played good baseball," •amply stated McHenry coach :Brian Wilson. "Pat pitched ; pretty well. He struck out five, • but he also walked five." . Dunne (3-2) pitched out of a ' tough jam in the fifth, when 1 Mundelein loaded the bases with • ho outs. But the right-hander worked his way out of it, getting a strikeout, foul pop-up and a • "grounder to third baseman Mike Schultz to end the inning. Mundelein scored two in < the ' first and two in the third, while the Warriors got a single run in the bottom of the first when Schultz singled, stole second, went to third on a ground-out, " and 5pered on a wild pitch. In the Warriors' three-run fifth, Dunne walked, and suc cessive singles by Merrick Steiffer, Brad Snyder and Steve , Hutt, plus a wild pitch, allowed > the locals to tie the score at 4-4. In the seventh, with two out, Baseball Jeff Schuster singled, went to second on a wild throw, and scored when Craig Hill's grounder was booted by the Mundelein shortstop. "It's the first time since I've been here (six years) that we've Won four in a row," Wilson said. "We're playing pretty good baseball, b but we've been lucky, t too. It was a good job on our part, especially Pat's, to stay in the game." v Hutt had two singles, as did Schultz, to lead McHenry's seven-hit performance. "Schultz hasn't been hitting very well, but everytime he gets on, he scores one way or another. His on-base percentage der's been hitting the ball well, too," said Wilson. "But we were lucky. Five walks and two errors, four unearned runs. We've got to stop giving away runs like that." Wilson and his Warriors are currently set in third place in the FVC, with a 6-6 mark. Wood stock is 11-2 after its win over Crystal Lake Central Wed nesday. The Tigers are 10-4. McHenry has six conference games left. "We've got a shot at second," said Wilson. "We'd like to get an even stronger hold on third, though, and that helps that Dundee-Crown lost (to Jacobs, 12-2)."- Schuster (3-2) will take the mound for McHenry against the Blue Streaks Friday.
