Results*of the event found a tie for first place shared by the team of Carol Cooney, Mary Mutchinsky, Mabel Smith and Melanie Frett and the- team of Liz Nolan, Laverne Harpling, Gladys Warfield and Fran Herrmann, both teams having 209. Posting a team score of 213 was the team of Floss Miller, Evie Castle, Mickey Becker and Betty Goscell. And, a 215 was the team of Alvina Yopp, Char Zwissler, Carol Barnicle and Mary Mullen. A number of chip-ins and birdies were reported. To wit: Floss Miller chipped in on 13 to hold par as did Melanie Frett on 18, Carol Barnicle on 2 and Pat Reed on 6. Liz Area drivers struggle in Wisconsin WILMOT, Wis. - McHenry native Jay Maywald cot the checkered flag in the 10-lap Late Model Sportsman semifeature Saturday night at the Wilmot Speedway. Maywald topped Larry Cash of Waukegan and Leroy Lowery of Antioch, who finished second and third, respectively. In various heats in the Late Model Sportsman category, McHenry area residents fared well. In the first heat, Sid Norton of Wonder Lake finished second, while Dennis Carlton of McHenry took the same finish in Heat No. 2.
