(CBS) GOLF Third-round coverage of the Memorial Tournament from the Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin. Ohio (ABC) WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS MOMENT OF "THE TRUTH"7 - Why would a 35- - year-old boxer who has made millions want to keep fighting? In the case of Larry Holmes, who takes his 47- won-0-lost record into the ring tomorrow night (Monday. May 20) in a scheduled 15-round IBF heavyweight championship bout with Carl "The Truth" Williams, he wants to break Rocky Marci- ano's 49-0 record. The fight, set to take place in Reno, Nevada, will be seen live in prime time on NBC. Back in March, after his impressive knockout of challenger David Bey in 10 rounds, the champion talked strongly about retirement. Last November, Holmes looked sluggish finishing off James "Bonecrusher" Smith in the 12th round, so it looked like there was reason for the pipe-and- slippers talk. After all, Holmes has been a titleholder since June 1978, when he survived a brutal 15th round to defeat Ken Norton and win the WBC crown. His 47 victories include 34 KOs and 19 title fights. Enough is enough! But with his eye on Marciano's record, Holmes will go to the well once more and take on the 6-foot- 4, 220-pound Williams, whose only fault appears to be lack of experience. He's had only 16 pro bouts and, like Holmes, is undefeated. He dispatched 12 of his opponents via knockouts. The challenger also proved he can get off the canvas when he was floored twice in the first round in his battle with James "Quick" Tillis last October. Williams won that one with a unanimous decision. The 25-year-old Williams is from New York City and is a former New York City Golden Gloves and World Amateur champ. < After winning his next three bouts, maybe Holmes will continue until someone gives him a fighting nickname like "Bonecrusher," "The Truth" or "Quick." Right now all he has is money and the. title. (c)l0B5 Compulog ! SUNDAY. MAY 19 7:00 AM Q Different Drummer 0 Kidding Around 0 Weekend Edition O 23 U.S. Farm Report o Dr. D. The evidence is in her latest clip, "Show Some Respect." in which Miss Turner struts her stuff in front of a live audi ence. It's just Tina, the audi ence and her music, helped with some good camera angles and brisk editing. Water everywhere Hall and Oates' "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" opens as Daryl and John enter an empty music hall, and several dif ferent shots of water are superimposed over the two heartthrobs. The amount of water builds with each shot as the band and backup singers appear. By the time we see the audience, the water, which was originally quite beautiful, has turned into a powerful force that threatens to drown the band. A knight's night REO Speedwagon's "One Lonely Night" tells the tale of a poor clumsy knight who leaves home after a fight with his wife and meets a wiiard who beams him into modern times.
