The theme for 1985 is "Open Books-Open Doors." Children who participate in this year's reading program have a chance to receive tickets to see the Chicago Cubs. Because of the Cub's out standing season last year, this year all libraries have been limited on the free tickets. Tickets, not applications, will be sent to each library. The tickets will be for a specific game and it will be sometime after August 1. The McHenry Public Library will pick a winner of the tickets from active participants of the Statewide Reading Program. Each child chosen will receive two Cub tickets. Every summer the library runs extra story times, starting with two and a half year olds to 12 year olds. This year the library is again offering a proven favorite -- painting classes for grades first to seventh. Participants must furnish their own equipment. Classes will be given by Gloria Stewart.
