Elm, McHenry, (1 BLOCK WESTOF BRIDGE) TO YOUR HEALTH' 385-6696 Tune in Tomorrow . . . The soap opera scene By Jon-Michael Reed L O S A N G E L E S - S a m Behrens, who plays attorney Jake Meyer on "General Hoispital," is flying high these days. About a year ago his castmate Peter Hansen (Lee Baldwin) in troduced Sam to the pleasures of piloting small aircraft. Sam im mediately began taking flying lessons and recently received his pilot's license. Last month he flew his on-screen love, Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbi Spencer Brock), to and from Arizona for a health fair where the two met their "GH" fans and signed autographs. Last weekend he flew a small group of his castmates, as well as f o r m e r " G H " m e m b e r K i n Shriner (ex-Scotty (Baldwin), to Santa Barbara to catch Anthony Geary (ex-L"uke Spencer) starring in a production of the musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Tony, incidentally, will resume playing the title role in a touring production of another musical, "Jesus Christ, Superstar," ih late June and early July, with Dlay dates set for Pittsburgh, Dallas and St. Louis. Sam, meanwhile, is also flying . high for a non-"GH" assignment.,. His series of commercials for Wrangler Jeans, which feature Sam as a swashbuckling Indiana Jones clone, are so successfuUhat they've been playing in movie houses as well as on home TV screens* A new batch of spots will be filmed in Hong Kong soon, and Sam will be taking a short leave of absence from "GH." Along" for the jet jaunt to the Orient will be Sam's wife, Dale, but they'll be taking a commercial flight for the long-distance haul. The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniver sary. Brooklynite Sam met his Mrs. while he was appearing in New York on "Ryan's Hope" as Dr. Adam Cohen and she was star ring in a Los Angeles production of the musical "Showboat." TASIA VALENZA WAS OFF SCREEN 'or most of March and April in her role of Dottie Thorn ton Martin on "All My Children." She was on leave of absence to film the female lead in "Rappin'." Also starring in the flick is Charles Flohe, who played Preacher on "Edge of Night" until that soap folded last winter. Charlie, you'll remember, is the man who swept daytime princess Kim Delaney (the much-loved and much-missed former Jenny Gard ner Nelson of "AMC") off her feet and waltzed her down the wedding aisle. And one of Tasia's current soap castmates, Tom Wright (Eugene Hubbard), served as stunt coordinator for a comic car crash featured in "Rappin."' Prior to launching an acting career, Tom made career dough by being one of Hollywood's most sought-after stuntmen. Now that Tasia's back on "AMC," Dottie has been sporting a "new look" -- a trimmer figure, a shorter, permed hairdo and a drop-dead gorgeous wardrobe. In the show's plot, Dottie had been off to New York to study clothes design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In a soaps-imitate- life -situation, it turns out that Tasia once studied there herself. • So, when Dottie (who'll continue to pursue a career as a fashion designer)*displays sketches of her designs, many of them will actual ly be Tasia's creations. Since Joy has, in the past, worn only one earring, she felt she could save a few bucks by making them herself. Tracey will be wear ing some of her creations in up coming episodes of "Y&R," and they can also be purchased at castmate Atty Weaver's (Gina Roma) boutique, One of a Kind, located in Beverly Hills.
