Megan was with her brother, Sean, 6, and sister, Mary, 2, at Riverside Drive Park. Easter Seal building expanded The Easter Seal Society for McHenry County is receiving a "face lift" with improvements being made through construction on both the interior and ex terior of the building. "The addition of a 37% by 12 foot storage area will free up existing space within the center for the operation of our various therapy programs while providing alternative storage space to house our loan pool, car seats, and other equip ment," Executive Director Steve Krause said. x "For the convenience of our patients, the han dicapped accessible bathroom will be relocated," he added. The equipment loan pool storage area will become the new occupational therapy room and the Home Health Care team will move their office into the former occupational therapy room. The new, larger oc cupational therapy room will also house the center's new computer. Individual therapy rooms will receive new curtains and the center will be painted "inside and out side," Krause said. "The last substantial face lift for Easter Seals was when the Galvin Wing was added 11 years ago," he continued. "Easter Seal therapy programs have grown extensively since that time." "As a result, Easter Seals has experienced some growing pains as we have needed to accommodate these programs within existing space constraints. This rennovation will help alleviate these growing pains." General Contractor A1 Schutz is coordinating the construction project, with construction and related work being done by Schauer Excavating, J.D. Con struction, Hoeflich Electric, Dittman's Plumbing and Heating, and A and O Masonry. "These contractors are doing an excellent job working as a team to help Easter Seals take another step toward becoming an even better community therapy center," Krause praised. "We certainly couldn't have gotten better quality work or cooperation from these contractor." The rennovation is being made possible through a bequest given by Noah L. and Hazel C. Miller, as well as continued financial support through revenue sharing funds granted'from various county townships.
