U. mpleymtr.t Agency NOTICE CITY OF McHENRY water customers west of the rail- and south of Elm Street (State To all city road tracks Route 120): The increasing number of brown or rusty wa ter complaints is the result of a combination of events: 1) the removal of Well Pump #5 for re pairs from the filtration system; 2) high water consumption thruout the City during a long dry weather period; and 3) the need for use of new Well tf7 which is unfiltered water, to supplant the loss due to #5 Well Pump removal. 1 While all the water supplies of McHenry are entirely safe for human use, the excess iron in the unfiftered supplies is less than desire^ble. As of this date, the City expects Well Pump #S to be back in place and on line, as a filtered water source, by Friday, June 21, 1985. The re installation of is Well Pump will permit the discountinuance of H7 Well Pump on a regular basis during the cooler summer days. Ho wever, should the weather turn hot and dry for extended periods, Well #7 will again be used to maintain adequate tank levels for fire protec tion and safe system pressures. The City requests that the customers please be patient while the Public Works Dept. and Water Dept. can get the well pumps back on line ,and eliminate these "rusty" water com plaints.
