FRIDAY, JUNE 28.1985 Church Wonder Lake to hold pageant KENT AND CATHY SHOOP In concert Chain 0'Lakes Evangelical Covenant Church invites the public to hear the music ministry of Kent and Cathy Shoop Sunday, June 30, at 7 p.m. A dessert social will follow the concert. Much of the con­ temporary Christian music they present has been written by Mr. Shoop. The Shoops travel ex­ tensively throughout the United States with their home base located in Bellevue, Wash. Their children, Kirk and Christa, travel with them. New original music fresh and spiritual insights are planned to make this concert both exciting and positive. A free will offering will be taken. The church is located at 4815 N. Wilmot Road, in Johnsburg. Call 497-3000 for further in­ formation. The 1985 Miss Wonder Lake Pageant will take place Saturday, June 29, at the Christ the King Church. The pageant will begin at 8 p.m. with Sherry Syens, Miss Wonder Lake of 1984, passing her crown on to the new Miss Wonder Lake. A dance will follow featuring the music of organist, Don Dusold, who will play a variety of music. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Lions Club member, Wonder Lake True Value, T.P. Matthews Real Estate, and Sentry Insurance & His and Her Hair Hut. The candidates are: Katherine Pfister, 19, is the daughter of Maria Pfister. She is a student at Loyola University and has just finished her first year. Her hobbies include all sports, reading and writing. She is majoring in psychology and intends to pursue a career in that field. Kim Schuler, 19, is the daughter of Patricia and Joseph Schuler. She is a student at Iowa State University where she is majoring * in industrial engineering. Her hobbies in­ clude sewing and music. Christine Grabowski, 17, is the daughter of Veronica and Keith Grabowski. She will attend Northern Illinois University and her goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant. Her hobbies include swimming and skiing. Anna Marie Ruzicka, 19, is the daughter of Vera and John Ruzicka. She is a 1983 graduate of West Campus High School and recently graduated from and auxilary police course at McHenry County Emergency Service and Disaster Agency. Her hobbies include sewing, swimming, drawing and canoeing. Gina Fruscella, 19, is the daughter of Bev and Rick Fruscell. She is a 1984 graduate of West Campus High School and is Assistant Office Manager at Adams Bros. Radiator. Her hobbies include dancing and reading. Deaths or Invite all to picnic Sunday The public is invited to attend an "old-fashioned" Sunday School picnic sponsored by the Wonder Lake Bible Church Sunday School Saturday, June 29, beginning at 3 p.m. Rod McClellan, Sunday School Superintendent, has announced a full schedule of events with something for everyone. Beginning at 3 p.m. there will be games for "kids of all ages"; or, to put it another way, "Kids' games for all ages." At 4:30 p.m. food will be served, and the committee is prepared for a lot of hungry picnickers. At 6 p.m. a lively program has been planned with a puppet show and music provided by a guitar group, a ladies trio, a men's quartet, and a children's singing group. Everyone is welcome to come and join the good time. Sunday School on Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. and Morning 4TH COMMANDMENT Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Miller, 61, died Wednesday, June 26,1985, in St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born in Toledo April 27,1924, the son of Thomas W. and Rosetta C. (Crossman) Miller. A former resident of McHenry, Mr. Miller had been a manager of the Bell Liquor Store, retiring in 1977; and was a member of the McHenry VFW.
