WILLIAM REIDY, SR. 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. William Reidy, Sr. celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary June 22. A dinner in their honor, hosted by, their children, was held at Warsaw Inn for all their friends and relatives. The couple repeated their wedding vows at the 9 a.m. Mass June 23, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. Following the service, a breakfast was held at Windhill restaurant. THEOS picnic July 15 The annual THEOS picnic will be held Monday, July 15 at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church in McHenry. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., however, arrival time can be anytime after 4, to enjoy visiting together. Those not at the last meeting are requested to contact Lyda at 385-2754 to find out what to bring. The picnic has been planned to make it as easy and inexpensive for everyone as possible, with fewer leftovers. There will be a "White Elephant Sale" to feed the hungry THEOS "kitty." Everyone is urged to bring an item or two to be auctioned off by Esther. Newcomers and guests are always welcome at THEOS, a warm friendly group of widows and widowers, with no age restrictions and no dues. It is non-denominational, meeting the third Monday of each month at 5 p.m., for dinner together at a local restaurant, followed by an evening of fun and fellowship. Pearl Street park site of Olde Tymes Polish Picnic * Liberty Post 188 of the Polish I Legion of American Veterans, McHenry, is sponsoring its 4th ^Annual Olde Tymes Polish "Picnic Sunday, July 14, at the I Pearl Street Park, McHenry. It starts at noon with a ^complete kitchen featuring ; Chicago style Polish sausage ; and kraut, bratwurst and kraut, * barbecued chicken and roasted * corn on the cob, along with ^everyone's favorite refresh­ ments. There will be prizes for the kids as well as a Polish souvenir table where one can purchase all sorts of Polish heritage products. Music by two bands will provide non-stop en­ tertainment for listening and dancing pleasure. The admission is free. Donations from the proceeds this year will be made to the needy family assistance fund. Moose plans events A .full slate of activities has been planned for members of the McHenry Moose Lodge, starting with a delicious top butt steak dinner served with a salad bar and all the trimmings Saturday, July 13. There will also be music from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. A band will entertain the following Saturday, July 20, and food will be available. The Legion of the Moose monthly breakfast is set for Sunday, July 21, from 8 to 11 a.m. , Enrollment of new members will be held Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. New enrollees are welcome to bring their wives or guests and entertainment by a band will follow the ceremony. Looking ahead, the Moose Annual Picnic is scheduled Aug. 17 at the lodge. A highlight of the day Sept. 7 will be a pig roast with Hawaiian music for entertainment. A limited number of tickets will be sold and they are available now. The weekly Friday night fish fry is continuing, and taco night is, Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. The Wednesday dinners have been discontinued for the summer. Come to American Indian pow wow The White Bear Indian Society invites everyone to its traditional Men's War Dance and Pow Wow Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m., in Huntley, three miles east of Route 47 on Algonquin Rd. and Frank Rd. There will be traditional In­ dian dancing by men, women and children; traders will be selling leather goods, turquoise, shawls, beads, feathers and many more Indian artifacts.
