Bart^ra Garasch and Catherine Frederich, two sisters who co-own the the business, hosted the anniversary at the company's North Park Street location. They offered a buffet of food to the steady stream of well-wishers w who dropped in for the celebration. Garasch said she's pleased with the company's growth and is preparing for future ex pansion. With the new computer system, the answering service can provide better service to more customers, she said. Garasch was initiated into the answerihg service business about two decades ago when she accepted calls for ATs Welding Service. Several phones were added after a short time there and an assistant was hired to keep pace with the incoming calls. After outgrowing a call directory, an office and switch board were added to the Pearl Street home. In 1970, Frederich joined her sister as a partner. They now employ six operators to work around a 24-hour daily schedule seven days a week. In 1978, the sisters relocated the company to North Park Street. Two switch boards were installed and sonn filled when the Wonder Lake branch was added. Soon after, however, the telephone company split with. AT&T making the equipment unusable. The new com puterized equipment then was installed. Seciuty eScfiooCi, • Uric. If 2350E.
