Rockford Urban Ministries (RUM), funded by the IL Conference of the United Methodist Church, has been asked to assist in the collection of canned goods, non-perishable foodstuffs and donations for the area pan­ tries. RUM is asking attendees to br­ ing non-perishable foodstuffs to the free concert. A collection will also be taken up by the youth of the Rockford Urban Ministries. People with food will be directed to a table, and around 8:1$ p.m. the youth will move into the crowd with buckets, collecting dona- tionii • The money will be donated to the Loves Park Pantry and the Rock River Valley Pantry in Rockford. It will be used for food only, not administrative costs. John Prine, who is known for his country-folk-rock music, played two years ago at the Metro Center and has numerous albums. The David Bromberg Band, a blues- rock band, has performed at Charlotte's Web. Jim Post has also appeared at the Web and has performed in some of the earlier Pantry benefits.
