McHenry native Steve Carby took the checkered flag in the 6.4 mile event Tuesday night, covering the course in a speedy 36:10 minutes plus, running in the 18-24 age division. Carby, who ran cross-country and track at McHenry High, from where he graduated in 1983, will be a sophomore at the University of Southern Florida at Tampa, where he is on scholarship.
