Mr. Peschke was raised and educated in western Lake bounty; had been a three-year esident of McHenry Township; -served in Germany with the US Army from 1976 through 1978; vas a former employee of Jaxter Labs, Round Lake and currently an employee of an Amoco station in McHenry. Ficken, 88, of 819 Wiltshire Dr., McHenry, died Saturday, July 20, 1985, in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. She was born March 20, 1897 in Germany, to Johann and Margaret (Bor- chers) Behnken. Mrs. Ficken came to the United States with her parents in 1926; lived and fanned with her husband in McHenry County most of her life; and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, McHenry. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Katharina) Boeker and four sons, Rudolph (Eleanor), Vernon (Vivian) John, Jr. (Carol) and Herbert, all of McHenry; 12 grand­ children; 10 great­ grandchildren ; and eight brothers and sisters in Ger­ many. She was preceded in death by her husband John, Feb. 25,1984; a daughter-in-law Clarice Ficken; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation was held Monday morning until the time of ser­ vices at lli30 a.m. in the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev Herman Graef officiating and interment was in McHenry County Memorial Park. Memorials are requested to the McHenry Township Fire and Rescue Department. Charles H. Epperson Charles H. Epperson, 63, 817 W. Southside Ave., Lilymoor, died Thursday, July 18, 1985, in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. He was born Oct. 14,1922, in Devils Lake, ND to John and Ida Epperson. Mr. Epperson had been a resident of Lakemoor and Lilymoor over 31 years; was employed by T.C. Industries of Crystal Lake over 20 years, in the maintenance division, retiring in 1982; was a past member of the McHenry County Auxiliary Police Department; and a US Army, WW II veteran. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Louise (Mulhearn), whom he married Oct. 8, 1949; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Watson of Chicago; three sons, Kevin and Patrick (Ann) all of McHenry, and Leroy (Kim) of Wonder Lake; three grandchildren; and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Visitation was held Sunday afternoon and evening in the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home where services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Roger Schneider officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens, Arlington Heights, 111. Memorials are requested to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital. Sophie F. Nowacki Sophie "Sue" F. Nowacki, 61, 7212 Algonquin, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, July 17,1985 in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. She was born Dec. 10,1923, in Chicago, to John and Anna (Strama) Jablecki. Mrs. Nowacki had been a resident of Wonder Lake the past 30 years, the last 15 years permanently; was a member^of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Chicago; and involved with the Wonder Lake Boy Scout Troop 145. Surviving are her husband George, whom she married June 4, 1955 in Chicago; two sons, Keith (Veronica) Grabowski and Thomas Nowacki, all of Wonder Lake; three grand­ children; and a sister Helen Giertuga of Wonder Lake. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment- followed in the church cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Wonder Lake Fire and Rescue Department. Alice R. O'Callaghan Alice R. O'Callaghan, 78, of McHenry, died Monday, July 15, 1985. and a complete obituary appeared in the July 19 edition of the McHenry Plaindealer. ' A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held in her memory Sunday, Aug. 11, at noon, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, McHenry. Anna F. Traub Anna F. Traub, 78, of Elgin, 111., died Thursday, July 18,1985, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born Nov. 18, 1906, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Anna (Bohleen) Anderson. Mrs. Traub lived in Elgin 45 years; was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elgin, Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, Parent Group-Elgin Rehabilitation Center ; and was president of Elgin Turners Woman's Club. She lived her early life in McHenry where she joined her late father, John A. Anderson, and other family members in operating Broadway Barbecue near the intersection of Front and Elm streets. Surviving are a daughter Annalee Traub and a son Glenn H. (Mary), all of Elgin; two granddaughters; two sisters, Evelyn Henke of Woodstock and Marian Reinlie of Florida; and eight brothers, Carl Anderson of Barrington, 111., Albin Anderson of Colorado, Walter and Arnold Anderson of McHenry, Theodore Anderson of Wildwood, Glenn Anderson of Palatine, Clarence Anderson of Oregon and Harry Anderson of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul H in 1971. her parents and an infant twin brother. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Schmitt Funeral Home, Elgin, with the Rev. Richard Rierson of­ ficiating and burial in the Crystal Lake Union Cemetery, McHenry. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of ser­ vices. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Sherman Hospital, the Elgin Rehabilitation Center, or Jayne Shover Easter Seal Foundation, Elgin. Mary D. Byrnes Mary D. Byrnes of Des Plaines, 111., formerly of Mc- Cullom Lake, died Saturday, July 20, 1985 in the Ballard Nursing Center, Des Plaines. She was 88, born in Chicago Jan. 18,1897, the daughter of William and Esther (Maltby) Daven­ port. Mrs. Byrnes had lived in McCullom Lake a number of years before moving to Batavia, 01. in 1962. Kummerow, 64, of Richmond, 111. died Saturday afternoon, July 20, 1985, in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 10,1921, in Chicago, the son of John and Anna (Hejlek) Kummerow. Mr. Kummerow had been a * machine operator for Western Electric in Chicago over 90 years, retiring in 1976; served as a corporal in the Army Air Force during WW n, 1943-46; was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Richmond, McHenry-Richmond Masonic Lodge 158; Tabala Temple, Freeport Consistory, and past worthy patron, Order of Eastern Star Richmond Chapter 267. On Oct. 30,1943, in Chicago, he married the former Victoria Cabala, and she died April 3, 1977. On Sept. 30,1977 in Woodstock, he married the former Shirley Sartorius who survives. Also surviving are a daughter VicU of Chicago; two sons, Robert of Richmond and Charles of Spring Grove; 11 grandchildren; and a brother James of La Grange, IU. Funeral services were con­ ducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grace church, with the Rev. Terry Dufur officiating and interment was in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, with Masonic and Eastern Star services at 8, in Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, Richmond. Lucille F. Nelson Lucille F. "Cookie" Nelson^of McHenry died Wednesday, July 17, 1985 in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. She was 71, born in Chicago June 11 1914, the daughter of Earl and Leona (Tuesing) Norman. Mrs. Nelson lived in the Wonder Lake and McHenry area about 34 years, except for four years spent in Mountain Home, Ark. Her husband Walter A. Nelson preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1981. Surviving are a son William W. of McHenry and two grand­ children, Tom and William Nelson. No visitation was scheduled and arrangements were made by the Peter M. Justen & Son Funeral Home. The family requests memorial contributions. Daniel J. Clark Daniel J. Clark, 21, 4701 W. Bonner Dr., McHenry, died in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, Monday, July 22, 1985, the result of an automobile-pedestrian accident. He was born in Elgin, 111. July 2, 1964, the son of Francis and Etta (Reinhard) Clark. Mr. Clark was educated in McHenry School Districts 15 and 156; participated in high school wrestling, in state competition two years; was on the Busy Bee 12 inch baseball team; member of the Riverside Athletic Social Club; and had been employed by Jerry Freund Construction Co. Surviving are his parents; five brothers, Sgt. 1st Class Michael (Linda) of the US Army, Ft. Benning, Ga., William (Tamra), Kenneth (Deborah) and James, all of McHenry, and David (Cassandra) of DeKalb; grandmothers, Etta Reinhard of Los Angeles, Calif, and Violet Clark of Wauconda; great- grandmother Virginia Harris of Riverside, Calif; three nephews and two nieces; and his fiance Kim Bar an. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the George R Justen & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, McHenry, with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials are requested to the high school wrestling program.
