Standard & Poor's 500-stock index fell 0.15 to 187.26. The price of an average share fell two cents. Among the 1,969 issues traded, advances outpaced declines 749-700. Big Board volume totaled 86,100,000 shares compared with 85,780,000 Wednesday.
