NORTHWEST HERALD Section B WMo«td«y, September 4, IMS Pago S Food |Now any coffee can be a flavored treat I- KEYPORT, NJ - Coffee £ gourmets will soon be enjoying » superior taste and convenience in * flavored coffee thanks to a revolu- k Won in the specialty coffees I market by Country Gourmet. In- * stead of making unflavored cof- l fee, consumers can turn any icup ; of ordinary coffee into Swiss «•; Chocolate, Irish Creme, Amaret- Jr to, or Vanilla by adding individual ^flavor packets. This represents a totally new t concept in flavored coffee. Up to K now, coffee connoisseurs had only »; two choices -- flavored, coffee K beans or grind, or the instant »; coffee-type products. Country " Gourmet is a flavoring that you BUY D IRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER 1 2 S T U E S O F BUNK BEDS T O C H O O S E F R O M BECAUSE WE MANUF ACTURE ALL OUR OWN FURNITURE. YOUR SAVINGS ARE FAR GREATER THAN BUYING FROM A RETAIL STORE. add to coffee, and the ramifica tions of this innovation are enor mous. The flavor packets, which have Just begun to appear on the shelves, come in boxes of 20, five of each flavor. The box will retail for $2.40. Because of this assorted - package, it isn't expensive to keep all the flavors on band. Conventional flavored coffees offer only one flavor per con tainer, and for brewed coffee, only one flavor per pot. With Country Gourmet, everyone can choose his own flavor without extra cost, separate preparation, or wasteful overstocking. The best way to sum up Country Gourmet's benefits is "choice". Customers can choose a favorite flavor from the assortment; they can choose whether to use it with brewed coffee pr instant, regular, or decaffeinated; they can choose strong or weak coffee with less or „more than the standard flavor portion. They can enjoy this popular gourmet treat even on -special diets. Another important feature of Country Gourmet is the packag ing. The shelf life of the sealed packets is almost unlimited. Con- . ventional flavored coffees begin to lose flavor'and taste once the con tainer is opened. Air sealed inside starts oxidation. Even flavored beans begin to deteriorate rapid ly. Stocking a variety of flavors of. the conventional-type products multiplies waste quickly. Country Gourmet coffee flavor ings also contain no sugar, no sodium, no alcohol, and Country Gourmet is caffeine-free. With 432 million cups of coffee consumed daily in the U.S. and the flavored coffee market growing at an estimated rate of 40 percent an nually, excellent sales are forecasted for Country Gourmet.
