NORTHWEST HERALD Section A Saturday. SeDtember 7. 198 .S Paaa Regional Ostomy Support Group renews monthly meetings The Ostomy Support G roup at Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, will renew its 'monthly meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 10, announced Elaine Stanley, R.N. The meetings will be held. in the hospital's lower level conference room, from 7 to 9 p.tn. Stanley, an enterostomal therapist, said the programs plan ned for the ninthly meetings will be varied, and are educatfonal, social and supportive for the par ticipants. > At the Sept. 10 program, Dr. Michael Karasis, urologist, will discuss his experiences in New Guinea and will show films of his Work with the physicians and hospitals. While in that country, he discussed medical techniques with the physicians and delivered needed medical supplies. At each monthly meeting, time will be provided for answering questions on an individual basis.: Hospital seminar on diets There are dozens of fad'diets on the market -- each promising to do more than the other, often at the expense of your health and pocketbook. Now, Saint Joseph Hospital is offering a six-session seminar on how to lose weight safely and keep it off. The seminar, "A New Weigh of Life," is scheduled for 7 p.m. on six consecutive Wednesday even ings, beginning Sept. 9. The program will address the four basic keys to losing weight: eating well-balanced meals, reducing calories, exercising and changing bad eating habits. Tips will be included on cooking, laber reading, grocery shopping and "sticking with it." To register or for more informa tion, contact the community rela tions department at Saint Joseph Hospital at (312) 931-5510. Scout , Continued from Page1A desk, I love working working out doors," Rubow said. With help from friends from school and scouts the structures were set into place, with the last cement being poured in November. Signs N^ith directions for eafch sta tion were added in the spring, and signs pointing runners on their way to the next station will be added this fall. With all the hours of work put in one might suspect Rubow would be relieved to have such a large under taking fininsheo. "It's not really relief, I enjoyed it so much I hated to see it end," he said. In fact, Rubow said, he would even have considered taking on the project, even if he hadn't been look ing for an Eagle project. "As long as I wouldn't have to find sponsors for it," he hastened to add. Since its completion the course has been used by some teams and gym classes at the high school, and joggers looking for more of a challenge. MASI 'S CATERING 93 W. MAIN ST.
