Senior citizens sponsor Fall motor coach tour Monday, Oct. 7, at 7 a.m., the senior citizens will depart from the McHenry Market Place on two mod­ ern motor coaches for points west which will include traveling over Grant Highway, west of Freeport, 111., also known as the old stage coach route. At that time of the year, Jo Ste­ phenson County will be beautiful, with the color of the leaves turning, rolling hills and winding roads. The busses will stop in Galena, 111. for a tour of that historic town, and then continue on to Dubuque, Iowa, where all will enjoy lunch aboard a boat while cruising on the Mississip­ pi River. Coffee and rolls will be served on the bus for the return trip home, early in the evening. Those interested can sign up and pay for the tour at the Monday, Sept. 9 meeting in East Campus High School. Members are asked to bring cook­ ies for refreshments, and a program is planned that should be of interest to everyone. David Graef, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Herman Graef of Mc­ Henry has been awarded a uni­ versity scholarship to Valparai­ so Un ivers i ty . He i s a sophomore in the College of Business Administration. At VU, DAvid is involved in intra­ mural sports and is a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity., Valparaiso University, located in Indiana 55 miles southeast of Chicago, serves approximately 4,000 students annually.
