Bee and her husband Jim first came to the vil lage from Chicago in 1963. They re mained summer residents until 1974 when they finally settled in year- round. Hie Browns have one daughter Carol, who also lived here for two years just across the street from mom and dad. Her first son, Tom, was born here and there are also two other grandsons. Bee has been an active member in the Ladies of the Lake since she joined in 1976. She has also held the office of vice-president since then. Her hobbies include bowling, tat ting, crocheting, embroidery, read ing and, of course, gardening, which shows in the lovely yard they keep. In Bee's spare time, she visits her brother at Royal Terrace regularly. Now that you know Bee, say "hi" when you see her. She'll $mile back. are fun events for members only, such as bowling outings, Christmas party dinner and the annual super salad summer supper. The next meeting will be held Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. Bring a neighbor and have some fun and enjoy refresh ments, such as zucchini bread which, was brought by Cindy Nelson to this meeting. See you there. Rosalie Hancock was re-elected to the office of presi dent, and Jacquie Blair is the club's new secretary, with Sandy Lasco leaving that office. Congratulations ladies. , . The Halloween party to be held Oct. 31 was discussed. Joan Seifert will chair this huge event. There will be the pumpkin and costume contest for residents and games to play. The Christmas Craft Fair will be held Nov. 9 at the beach house from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. The fees are as follows: $10 for space rental and $12 for table rental. The club meets the first Wednesday of each month at the beach house, starting at 7 p.m., which is the new time beginning next month. It's a casual, come as you are meeting. This fine club sponsors all the chil dren's holiday parties, plus there Show film September 12 McHenry County Area Childbirth Educators (MCACE) invites the public to attend a showing of the award winning film, "Nan's Class," at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the McHenry Public Library, 1011 N. Green St., in the community room. The film depicts the labors and deliveries of five couples and a sin gle parent who have prepared for the birth of'their child by attending Lamaze classes. It also shows the latest in family centered maternity care, including the Leboyer method. The group will also sponsor a childbirth film festival Friday, Oct. 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Memorial Hospital for McHenry ,County, Woodstock. Featured will be films on breast feeding, cesarean birth, adapting to parenthood and life with a newborn.
