Father James Gaynor was the of­ ficiating clergyman for the 2:30 p.m. ceremony performed July 13 in the Church of St. Mary of the Assump­ tion, McHenry. Appropriate musical selections included "Evergreen," "If," "Ave Maria," "On Eagles' Wings," "Wedding Song" and "Sometimes." Attending the bride as matron of honor was Tammie Youngman of Tampa, Flp. Bridesmaids were Cathy and Susan Sharp of McHenry, Wendy Luse of Naperville, 111. and Chrissie McCarthy of Northbrook, 111. Handling the duties of best man was Bob Sharp of McHenry. Following the nuptials, a reception for 175 friends and relatives was held at the Barn in Barrington. The new Mrs. Sharp graduated from Bradley University in Peoria and is a teacher for SEDOM. Her husband, a graduate of Eastern Illi­ nois University, is a certified public accountant for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell in Chicago. They are 'at home' at 1910 Cam­ bridge Ct., Apt. 4B, Palatine, 111. Schiller-Sokolowskl Following a tradition started by her sisters, when the former Susan Kay Schiller became the wife of Thomas Alan Sokolowski, she was wearing her grandmother Berna- dine Springman's pearl necklace, great-grandmother, the late Lesta Baker's ruby and opal ring, and carried great-great-grandmother, the late Susanna Engle's gold pin on a handkerchief. The bride is the daughter of Ver­ non and Jean Schiller, 533 N. Draper Rd., McHenry. Richard and Dolores Sokolowski, 217 N. Hill Rd., McHen­ ry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The Rev. John Holdren performed the 3 p.m. nuptials July 13 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. A special reading was given by the groom's godmother, Angeline Gleason of Elmwood Park, 111. Large white pew bows with ferns marked the aisle and the altar was flanked by candelabra decorated with white and apricot carnations, greenery and white bows. A sculp­ tured white and apricot Unity Can­ dle in the center of silk apricot roses, calla lilies and greenery is now a centerpiece in the couple's home. Mary Ellen Huckstep, accompa­ nied on the guitar by Lee Steins- doerfer, sang "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" at the lighting of the Unity Candle and "Here, There & Everywhere" when the couple pre­ sented roses to their mothers and grandmothers. The bride wore a white floor length gown of shiny silk and satin, accented by full puffed, embroi­ dered chiffon sleeves. Seed pearls emphasized the embroidered bodice and dropped waist. The flowing ca­ thedral train swept from the full circular skirt, which was adorned with motifs of embroidered lace and shiny silk fleeting. They, and the couple's fathers wore dove gray tuxedos with white pleated shirts accented by gray bow ties and cummerbunds. The mother of the bride selected a royal blue intermission length pleat­ ed chiffon dress with a cummerbund and matching chiffon flower. The full pleated skirt was edged with a small ruffle. A matching covered ascot style hat, pearls and white gardenia completed the ensemble. The groom's mother chose a taupe chemise, frosted with tiny seed pearls, long sleeves and low drape back, complemented by a pearl necklace and pink rosebud corsage. Rick Beck welcomed 165 guests to the "Tom and Sue" show and intro­ duced the bridal party at the recep­ tion in Hob Nob IlTCrystal Lake. A cousin, Diane Christiansen of wood- stock, circulated the guest -book; and an aunt, ArlerurPolnow of Union, 111. designed tad made the arrangement Attynhe wedding cake. After a tWo-week honeymoon in the picturesque Rocky Mountains, yweds took up residency in Parte, Rockford, 111. The new Mr. and Mrs. Sokolowski graduated from McHenry High School in 1960. She received a bache­ lor's degree in Teaching from Rock- lord College, where she is presently pursuing her career. He got a bache­ lor's degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a certified public accountant for Coo­ pers and Lybrand in Rockford. To com­ plete the look, she wore her grand­ mother's diamond and pearl ear­ rings and carried a bouquet of white carnations and two dozen baby pink rossi. Kimberly Barone was the flower girl and ushers were Mark and Mike Schmaling. The bride's mother chose a pink formal and teardrop, veiled hat; and her father selected a black vested tuxedo.
