Unfortunately for the Oakville Blades, they went one step further and chose all of the above. And that combination proved absolutely lethal in their dismissal from the Central Ontario Junior A Hockey League playoffs, Sunday. i VD'a\"is and Co. bounced the Blades 7â€"5 and took the bestâ€"ofâ€"five West Division quarterâ€"final set 3â€"1 before a crowd of about 350 at Oakville Arena. A 119â€"point scorer in 46 games during the regular season, he had three goals eight assists over the last three games â€" and was a pain even when not scoring. "What they do (on the powerâ€"play) is plain and simple," sighed Blades coach Greg Ireland. "They put three big guys in front of the net which allows their defence to pop down low. It‘s hard to cover." Ireland stressed to the players the importance of specialty teams and staying away from penalties going into and throughout the series. But, being younger than the veteran Caledon outfit, Blades players often lost their heads by retaliating to the Canadians‘ goading. "We stressed that, fiveâ€"onâ€"five, we‘re a better team than they are said. "The guys got a little wound up the last three games.
