10 The Halton Board of Education is welcoming public input on 10 recently proposed 1993 budget amendments at its next finance gommittee meeting . That meeting takes place Mon. k{arch 22nd, at 7 p.m. in the Halton Room of the J.W. Singleton Education Centre at 2050 Guelph Line. Burlington. _ Currently the board‘s 1993 expenditure budget sits at $291 million â€" a 2% expenditure increase for the board and a 4.01% millrate increase for the taxpayer. Smokes stolen Thieves stole approximately $4,000 worth of cigarettes during a Saturday morning breakâ€"in at the Heritage Corner variety store in Glen Abbey. The breakâ€"in occurred at about 6:37 a.m. Saturday, March 13th when thieves smashed the store‘s front window. Police said the culprits left with about 98 cartons of cigarettes worth $4,000 before police arrived at the scene.
