Hawks are redâ€"hot on the diamond Loyola Hawks continued their fine play Monday, downing White Oaks 3â€"1 in Halton high school baseball play at River Oaks Park. Darmnell Vrban and Ryan Dickson combined on a twoâ€"hitter on the hill as Loyola, now 3â€"1â€"1 in the HSSAA Volpe Division, ran its unbeaten streak to four games. Vrban went the first four innings, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out eight. Dickson went the final three innings for the save. He surrendered one run on one hit and a walk. Mark Wright was the losing pitcher for White Oaks (3â€"2â€"0). He gave up two runs on four hits. Clint Lawrence went the final two innings, allowing one hit. Loyola took a 1â€"0 lead in the second inning on shortstop Peter Busseri‘s sacrifice fly. Hawks got another run in the third on Vrban‘s RBI double scorâ€" ing Stephano Kim, who had sinâ€" gled.
