Born in Egypt, Watson began teaching high school in Cairo at the tender age of 18. No formal requirement was necessary for teaching but Watson was dedicated. He headed back to university at the American University in Beirut, Lebanon to study history and education. At age 24, Watson became a principal and raised his young family. By age .. 30, he was a superintendent of 16 schools spread across the Fayum District, a geographic district of an oasis. "It was like a big oasis in the desert made up of many towns and cittes," ... said Watson, describing it as an Egyptian province.
