The Town of Oakville is now carrying out a study of Neyagawa Boulevard between Highway 5 and Highway 403 in accordance with the requirements of the Class Environmental Assessment for Municipal Road Projects. CURRENT STUDY BACKGROUND For approximately a decade the Town of Oakville Official Plan has shown a proposed interchange of Neyagawa Boulevard (Dorval Drive) with the proposed Highway 403 east of the existing Fourth Line (see Key Plan). The Ministry of Transportation has recently announced plans to initiate construction of sections of Highway 403 as eany as 1995. PUBLIC CONSULTATION Public input is an important part of this study. The first Public Open House/Meeting has been arranged to review and receive comments about the study approach, background information, updated transportation analysis and alternative solutions. If backyard composting is not possible, The Town encourages you to make use of the loose leaf collection programs and eliminate placing leaves in the garbage. In order to reduce collection costs, all citizens of Oakvllle are encouraged to compost leaves wherever possible and to use this organic material in your gardens. Where it is necessary to dispose of your leaves, the Town of Oakvllle will provide a loose leaf pick-up service provided leaves are put out in accordance with the Rules and Regulations. The schedule tor loose leaves pick-up provides coverage of the Town, once in the Spring and three times in the Fall. The dates shown in the schedule are the first days of the pick-up periods for the respective zones. It anyone wishes loose leaves removed at times other than those designated for their zone, they should haul the leaves themselves to the Region of Halton's Disposal site located at 5400 Highway 25 (Bronte Road), 6 kilometres north of Highway 5 (Dundas Street) on the west side ot Highway 25, or hire a private contractor to remove them. 1. Leaves are to be placed in neat piles or windrows on the shoulder of the road or on the boulevard beside the mad. 2. Leaves are not to be placed over catchbasins, or in ditches where the equipment cannot mach. 3. Leaves are to be free of branches, garden debris, sod, roots, stumps, soil, stones, fencing or any or any other foreign matter. The Town's vacuum machines are not capable of accommodating piles ot leaves contaminated with these items and damage could result to the machines. Piles of leaves contaminated with the above will not be taken and it will be the owner's responsibility to remove them from the roadway and dispose of them elsewhere at their own expense. 4. Leaves shall be put out no earlier than seven (7) days before the first day of the specified collection period and no later than 7:30 in the morning of the first day of the specified collection period. 5. Leaves put out after the crew has already passed that point will not be returned for, and must be removed try the owner forthwith, in accordance with By-law No. 1991-27.
