Every Sunday, beginning this weekend, the Oakville Centre is filled with the sound of children‘s laughter and chatter as the best in children‘s entertainment from across Canada drops by. The season kicks off with Dinosaurs performed by Erewhon Theatre and continues with a stunning puppet production from Montreal‘s Theatre Sans Fils who performed the sellout Hobbit last season. Their show, The Dream Catchers, is filled with dramatic lighting and giant puppets. Favorite regulars return such as Lampoon Puppettheatre with their charming Japaneseâ€"inspired producâ€" tion of The Little Blue Hedgehog and the Mermaid Theatre from Nova Scotia brings the well known fable Gulliver to the stage. Prior to both of these events, however, the store will play host to three other authors: Saturday, Nov. 13th, William J. Thomas will sign copies of Malcolm and Me between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.; on Saturday, Nov. 20th, Sheila Creighton will preview her book The Oakville Book, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to be followed by Paul McLaughlin whose book A Family Remembers, offers stepâ€"byâ€"step instructions in the use of video and audio recordâ€" ing to preserve family memories. Advance tickets are $6.42 for most shows (exceptions are The Dream Catchers and The Nutcracker, $8.75 as well as the special Friday evening perâ€" formance of The Nutcracker with a carol sing, $10.75) 815â€"2021. Last year‘s sellout production of The Canadian Opera Company Ensemble‘s Hansel and Gretel is makâ€" ing a repeat performance and of course, the Children‘s Centre series would never be complete without Oakville‘s Elizabeth Paterson Dance company presentation of The Nutcracker Suite with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra. Another season of fairytales and puppets Quest is located at 123 Trafalgar Rd and more information can be obtained about the above events, by contacting the store at 849â€"6244.
