The game was tied 1â€"1 at the end of one period, but Oakville dominated for the rest of the contest. Stephen Baines led the team with two goals, while James Wallace, Clark Thomas, Chris Wernham, Josh Smith, Trevor Burns and Geoff Curtis had singles. Scott Weagant (3) David Ksiazkiewcz (2), Smith, Thomas and Wernham has assists. Nick Ball and Zach Katsof had strong performances in net. Next game is Nov. 10 in Milton. MINOR NOVICE "AA": Oakville Rangers Minor Novice "AA" hockey team bounced back to defeat Georgetown 6â€"2 after dropping two straight, 2â€"0 to Woolwich and 3â€"0 to Brampton. Against © Georgetown, Evan McGrath scored eight seconds into the game to give Oakville a 1â€" 0 lead. McGrath scored five times and had an assist on Blake McLennan‘s goal. McLennan, Kevin Silber and Matt Mateja also had assists. Against Brampton, Oakville peppered the opposition goalie with 15 shots but still came up short. NOVICE: Oakville Rangers Novice hockey team dropped two decisions before rebounding for two straight wins. The team lost 6â€" 4 and 7â€"3 to Brampton, but then defeated Flamborough 4â€"1 and Brampton 5â€"4. In the first game against Brampton, goals were scored by Brendan Murray, Mark Stoma, David Probyn and Justin Close. Assists went to Close, Michael Knight (2), Scott Hatch, Stoma and Probyn. In the second game against Brampton, Gary Rookyard and Close (2) scored. Knight, Robert Haines and Probyn (2) assisted. Instead it will be two Burlington schools â€" M.M. Robinson and Nelson â€" doing battle to determine the best junior boys football team in Halton. The Q.E. Park Eagles and the Oakvilleâ€"Trafalgar Red Devils went into semiâ€"final playoff action Thursday hoping to win their respecâ€" tive matchâ€"ups and earn a trip to Hamilton. The Eagles ran into a tough M.M. Robinson Rams team and lost 43â€"29 in a hardâ€"fought affair. Meanwhile, the Red Devils fell to the Nelson Knights 21â€"6. The Eagles took a 29â€"27 lead with one minute to go in the third quarter on a 65â€"yard run by Jamie Bowman. But the Rams scored with 30 seconds left in the quarter to make it 34â€"29 and then dominated the fourth quarter to seal the victory. : "We couldn‘t stop their offence," said Eagles coach John Skinner. The Eagles and Rams exchanged leads several times throughout the course of the game. The Rams took an early 7â€"0 but the Eagles answered on a 12â€"yard touchdown run by Kirk Cornelius. With the Rams leading 14â€" 7 in the first quarter, Jamie Bowman ran back a punt 90 yards only to have it called back on a penalty.
