The final awards for the day came in the 4x200m relay, as the atom girls foursome of Leah Quelch, Caralynn Laszlo, Stephanie Kennedy, and Megan Punnett, each 10, placed sixth with a time of 2:16.9. Kennedy set two personal records, running the hurdles in 10.0 seconds, and covering the 200m in 33.5 seconds. The club‘s double medal winner of the day was David Punnett, 8. He won silver in the mite boys shot put with a personal record of 5.90m and bronze in the 50m hurdles with a personal record of 9.2 seconds. He was also sixth in long jump with a flight of 2.82m. Cassandra Kawiuk, 7, duplicated that success in the mite girls category, earning silver (PR of 4.07m). ~In the same event, Leslea Punnett, 6, broke the association record for "junior mites" with a perâ€" sonal record of 3.62m, good enough for sixth place. The listed record was 3.53m. Caralynn Laslzo, 10, followed two 11â€"yearâ€" olds to the finish in the atom girls 1500m to win the bronze medal in 5:56.9. Besides Punnett, the only other multiple award winner was Candace Kawiuk, 9. Sonia Nason, 11, appeared in her firstâ€"ever championship event, and won the silver medal in the atom girls high jump, with a personal record of 1.34m. This time was a considerable distance from her 5:39.87 set in London on Dec. 4, but the locals do very little distance running during the indoor seaâ€" son, concentrating instead on developing speed for the outdoor campaign. She used a trio of personal records to place fourth in the tyke girls 5Om hurdles (9.3s), fourth in the shot put (5.96m), and fifth in the 200m (34.4s).
