The "Coronation Park Revitalization" plan is part of the Waterfront Regeneration Trust, also known as the Crombie Commission. It includes the extensive waterfront trail system which, when complete, will stretch along the lake from Burlington Bay to the Trent River. Oakville‘s 10 km of Lake Ontario frontage is an integral part of this plan. Under the agreement reached by Council Monday night the Town will ante up $636,250 which will be matched dollar for dollar by the Regeneration Trust. The auction will be at the Sir John Colborne Centre and consist of art, antiques, quality goods and services. There will be a preview at 9 a.m. with the auction at 11 a.m. The Bronte Historical Society will hold anâ€"Old Time Auction of High Quality Items Sat. June 25th as part of the Waterfront Festival activities. The Society hopes to coordinate the Sovereign House‘s restoration and transformation into a display centre and community hall. Proceeds from the auction will go towards renovating the Sovereign House. The Sovereign House is a twoâ€"storey brick and plaster home overâ€" looking Lake Ontario at the bottom of West River Street on the Bronte Bluffs. Built by Charles Sovereign in the 1830‘s, it was also home in the early 1900‘s to Mazo de la Roche, one of Canada‘s most famous authors. In the review, OTMH was listed as having the second highest rate â€" 20% â€" in the province for hospitals of similar size. Two years ago, OTMH offiâ€" cials vowed to lower the rate of Cesarean sections after the rate of 28% was criticized as too high for a low risk delivery hospital.
