Quick work by tournament irector Steve Fife and the co- peration of Coopers and Lybrand, receivers in the shut- down, allowed the games to go “I didn’t know about the shut down until Saturday morning,†said Fife. “I ï¬nally got in touch with Mike McGill of Coopers at SportsDomes on Monday at 11:30 a.m. He said Coopers would honour the commitment.†’ McGill was aware of the tour- nament and had made arrange- ments with on-site security to ‘allow it to continue. Fife specu- lated that community good will land the 320 families involved probably encouraged Coopers to allow the tournament. i “The tournament is wildly popular with the kids and par- ents,†said Fife. The week long major and minor t-ball tournaâ€" ment takes place two hours each “day.
