The evening of fashion and fun which store manager Pat Guitard enthusiastically promoted as "a great night out where you can take some time for yourself, now that the kids have gone back to school," was built on the success of the store‘s ‘Spring Celebration 1994 Fashion Show.‘ That event, a first for the Oakville store, drew rave reviews from hundreds of area women. Participants attending the October 6 event were captivated by a diverse colâ€" fection of fall fashion stories, many of which are designed to take today‘s busy woman from day to evening with a‘minimum of fuss. The season‘s popular menswear theme was interpreted in Nygard‘s Woodblock and Milano collections, with smartly tailored Europeanâ€"cut jackets, wool pants, and comfortable yet classic turtlenecks, softened by rufâ€" fled and finely detailed blouses. The pomp and circumstance of the military trend was executed in heelâ€"clicking perfection with the Saluté collection. Fashion aficionados In both sold out events, women eager to learn trade secrets enjoyed an intimate fashion show, and then had an opportunity to consult the experts one on one, learning how to make the seaâ€" son‘s trends work to their advantage. "Autumn Elegance"centred around fashions from the Nygard Collections, augmented by accessories from The Bay‘s own collections, jewelry by Monet, hosiery by Phantom, makeâ€"up by Estée Lauder, and undergarments by WonderBra. She started the journey with a spicy swirl of such exotic influences includâ€" ing the pasha jacket and handâ€"sewn beading from the Eastern Expedition and Taj Mahal collections.
