Allerton was travelling with his first wife, Mary, and three chilâ€" dren, plus the likes of John Alden and Myles Standish. The itinerant band of English emigres landed at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. Or so the story goes. Less than half of these hardy seekers of religious freeâ€" dom survived the first winter. Roser, 40, has been involved in genealogy detective work for about 20 years. "In genealogy," she said, in a recent interview in her country home on Tremaine Road, "once you dig up that first piece of information â€" you‘re hooked â€" it‘s almost like a disease." Her link to the Mayflower, by the way, was less than saintly. YÂ¥ usan Roser belongs to a fairly exclusive club, the Canadian Society of Mayflower / Descendants. There are only 150 members in this country. Of course, there are 60,000 memâ€" bers in the United States, not quite so exclusive.
