New law forces pets to be vaccinated November 23, 1994 The Halton Regional Health Department is remindâ€" ing region pet owners that as of Jan. 1st, 1995, all cats and dogs in Halton must be vaccinated against rabies. Rabies vaccination is important for two reasons: 1. The Ministry of Health has recommended mandaâ€" tory vaccination in all health units in the Torontoâ€" Hamiltonâ€"Niagara corridor to help control raccoon rabies.
