The group is a registered, nonâ€" profit charitable organization and do not charge for concerts, however, due to budget cuts, they appreciate any contributions. Among past venues at which the Concert Band has performed include Coronation Park â€" where they have a summer series, the Oakville Historical Society picnic, Bronte Senior Citizens Residence, Hopedale Mall, Oakville Place, Oaklands Regional Centre and the Oakville Centre. i The band, which just happens to be Canada‘s oldest community conâ€" cert band, has an extensive reperâ€" toire, classical to contemporary, including Big Band classics, marchâ€" es and old favorites. They also have a wide selection of Christmas music to perform during the season. Aside from looking for performâ€" ing outlets, the Band is interested in increasing its membership. Perhaps you‘re a member of your high school‘s band, or you‘ve always been hooked on concert band music and wish to contribute the experiâ€" ence you‘ve acquired over the years â€" there are openings available in most sections. Rehearsals take place every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at Appleby College in the Nicholas Arts Centre. Newcomers are welcome to come and attend any rehearsal.
