Emily Chapin "Jamie" Jamieson Knapp, 89, died Friday, June 16, after a long illness. A devoted wife, mother and sister, a talented and creative artist and an inspiration to many, she loved life and saw in her surroundings the beauty of color and composition in things both natural and man-made. She was born March 20, 1917 in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Lewis C. Jamieson and Julia Bliss Chapin Jamieson. She received her B.A. from Bennington College in 1938, married David Knapp on May 31, 1941, and worked as a fashion illustrator for Lord & Taylor in New York City before starting a family. The family moved to Oakville where they lived for 23 years before retiring to South Carolina. She painted throughout her life. She is survived by five children, their spouses and grandchildren: Julia, Arthur, Allison and Ashley Roslund of Lyndonville, Vt.; Marcia, Lon, Megan and Meredith Peters of Portland, Or.; David, Kathy and David T. Knapp of Oakton, Va.; Cynthia Knapp and Pete Holdnak of Atlanta, Ga.; and Jamie Knapp and Rick Palkovic of Davis, Calif. Death LEE, Alfred Thomas- Sadly and very suddenly in the early morning hours of June 18th, 2006, our cherished and adored son Alfred Thomas Lee II, departed our world.
